Gabriella Mangano and Silvana Mangano

19 September 2014

Visiting artists, Gabriella Mangano and Silvana Mangano, arrived in Dunedin this week and will be with us until late October, generating a new body of work as part of the Gallery’s Visiting Artist Programme.

Their collaborative video practice investigates the interrelationship between their bodies, sculptural objects, time and space.

The work produced in Dunedin will follow on from two recent projects: a residency at the International Studio and Curatorial Programme (ISCP), New York and the 2014 TarraWarra Biennial, Australia.

They will return in late November to install their exhibition which opens on the 29th November.

Until then, however, they will be using their portable studio (a car) to film at an undisclosed location somewhere in the Dunedin region…
