Landscapes

Through a Window        Level 1-4
In this workshop the landscape scene is seen through a window with still life items sitting on the window sill.

View Through a Wrought Iron Fence      Level 1-4
The foreground for this landscape scene is a person leaning against a see through fence.

Amazing Landscapes Exhibition        Level 1-4
Choose your own landscapes for a mini exhibition.

Risky Landscapes        Level 1-4
Students will look at a variety of landscapes to discover how the weather and time of day affects the mood of the scene. The workshop is all about taking risks and letting go of the tight control. Will the end result be a complete disaster or a fantastic moody, stormy landscape?

Scratch Landscapes        Level 1-4
The texture in these landscapes is created using the sgraffito technique. The effects can look quite stunning. A collage cut-out adds a surreal focal point.

Wild and Woolly Landscapes        Level 2-4
Landscape pictures gain a new layer of texture as features such as grass, trees, fences and the sun are added using brightly-coloured wool and large sewing needles.

Rangi and Papa        Level 2-4
Reach back to the depths of time with the Maori creation story of Papatuanuku and Ranginui. How can you show land and sky as Earth Mother and Sky Father?

Hillscapes        Level 3-4
The focus is on painting shifting colour from dark to light to create the illusion of showing a group of overlapping hills or mountains. A 3-D cut-out may be added later to create a focal point. Great workshop.
