Behind the Scenes

Design Your Own Exhibition        Level 1-4
This visit looks at the work of the curator in the process of selecting and arranging works in an exhibition space. Students will curate their own exhibition of miniature artworks.

Take a Peek Behind the Scenes        Level 6-8
Find out about the different occupations at an art gallery and how the building is designed to keep artworks safe. Your visit will take you to places where the public are not normally allowed to go.

Careers in Art        Level 6-8
There is a wide range of careers in art related to an art gallery. Meet some of the staff and find out what specialist tasks they do to make the Gallery function efficiently.

Work Experience        Level 6-8
The Gallery classroom is an ideal place for the placement of secondary students for work experience. They will gain an insight into education in an art environment both with analysing and interpreting artworks and also with hands-on practical art workshops. This placement will be of value not only for students who are interested in pursuing a career in art or art museums but also those with an interest in primary and secondary school teaching.
