Senior Tā Moko artist, Stu Wararahi McDonald, talks about Tā Moko, its tradition, its history, and the necessary conversational process that occurs between client and artist. McDonald has been working in Tā moko for twenty years and has vast experience and is highly esteemed. Dunedin’s Tā moko studio is believed to be the southernmost in New Zealand, and has an art gallery attached that contains art by contemporary local Māori artists.
