ASSOCIATE PROF DEIDRE BROWN

Walters lecture

Associate Professor Deidre Brown (Ngapuhi, Ngati Kahu) teaches design and history in the School of Architecture at the University of Auckland. Her research interests are in the fields of Māori and Pacific architectural and art history, and the broader discipline of Indigenous design. Today she will discuss the relationship between kowhaiwhai and architecture.

DISTANCES: MUSIC PERFORMANCE JAPAN/GERMANY/NEW ZEALAND. In keeping with the theme of the downstairs Collection exhibition World View, Miyata-Yoshimura-Suzuki Trio with soloists from Ensemble Musikfabrik and with Dylan Lardelli, incoming Mozart Fellow, University of Otago, perform music which unites composers from three countries, including past and present Mozart Fellows, Chris Gendall, and Samuel Holloway.
